Joint Meeting last Thursday

A joint meeting of all 7 clubs in Macau last Thursday hosted by us at the Venetian was held successfully with over 70 attendance. PDG David Harilela promoted ‘The One’ and the ‘Rotary Global Rewards’ to all Macau Rotarians. Unfortunately, there’s no ‘The One Macau’ and not many vendors in Macau joined the ‘Rotary Global Rewards’. However, please visit their vendor list on the internet when you need to travel because you might enjoy a certain discount while part of it will go the the Rotary Foundation.

We are very happy to have our Alumni Rtn. Lee Thomas from RC South Carolina paid a surprise visit to us last Thursday.

Rotary Blood Donation Day – 25th February, Saturday

Rotary Blood Donation Day will be held this Saturday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at Flower City Garden in Taipa. Please find attached the poster and map of the location of the event for your attention. The opening ceremony will start at 3:00 pm. There will be game booths run by all clubs in Macau including Rotaractors to attract the people to the event and donate blood. The Rotary Foundation Centennial Exhibition will move over there also. The purpose of the BDD is to bring awareness of blood donation to the public especially the need for negative blood type. While there’s only 0.5% of RH- in Asian but 15% in Caucasian, we’d like to call for more Caucasians to donate. Please help to forward the attached poster to your friends.

I regret to inform you that the beloved husband of PDG Belinda Yeung, Daniel Pong passed away peacefully on 14th February. The funeral service will take place at the HK Funeral Home in North Point today from 5 pm. I have, on behalf of our Club, arranged a wreath and conveyed our deepest condolences. May Daniel rest in peace.

PDG Johnson Chu was in a very critical condition in a coma and on a ventilator before he had his operation last Thursday. The operation was reported as successful, however, he has not come out of a coma yet. Please pray that he can get over soon.
