Fellow Rotarians
Thank you, thank you. We have 36 ( 26 members and 10 guests) in last night’s 44th Club Meeting cum ‘ All you can eat, all you can drink’ social night at Tromba Rija Portuguese Restaurant at Macau Tower.
I can only say it was truly a fun , fulfilling, food and drink fellowship night from the photos attached and our club Facebook. Thanks to PP Ip for enhancing the drinking fun with his Port and Cognac.There are a few updates to share:-
- The Rotary Foundation
- Our club has been recognized for Rotary Year 2015-16 as :-
- a 100% Foundation Giving Club based on achieving an average of USD100 per capita giving and 100% Foundation participation which our club has done to Annual Fund this year.
- 100% EREY Sustaining Club which is now merging the Every Rotarian Every Year club banner and the 100% Sustaining Member Club banner as one.
- Again, with our $100USD donation this year from all of you which is included in your annual club dues, we are qualified for this banner again for current Rotary year.
A huge thank you to your support to the ‘ Be a Gift to the World ‘ cause and we look forward to your continued support to The Rotary Foundation which will be celebrating its 100th year in RY 2016-17 .
Paul Harris Fellow Recognition
Foundation Chair Teren presented PHF pin recognition to PP Fatima for achieving donation level of Paul Harris Fellow + 5 , PP KC Paul Harris Fellow +3 and myself Paul Harris Fellow + 7 .
New Member
PP Stella shared the good news that the proposed two new members:-
– Ms Li Ying ( proposer: PP Gary)
– Mr Marc Vernaeve ( proposer: Rtn Elvo)
have received no objection from the club. It was suggested to have them , upon receipt of their payment of admission and annual fees for RY2016-17, to join our District Installation in HK on July 9 ( Sat ) when there is a new member induction ceremony for all clubs in the district.
We will have our club own induction ceremony for Li Ying and Marc on our Joint Installation Night on Aug 5 ( Fri) at the Venetian.
Box collection :
After the topping by PP Fred and Guy etc., the final box collection is a very lucky $1388.80
My News
As you may all note that I will be embarking on a new venture in Vietnam which will take my posting there for a while. Nevertheless, Hanoi is only 1.5 hours flying time away so take it as I am on business trips frequently as you will still see me very often and I definitely will stay always connected to my beloved Rotary Club of Macau and each and everyone of you. So this is not a goodbye !
My deepest gratitude and appreciation to all of you for your ardent and generous support and assistance given to me during my Presidency year. It has made my role so much more easier, enjoyable and rewarding indeed. Well, allow me to leave my full thank you remarks for the Aug 5 Joint Installation evening. And I appreciate for your continued valuable support to our Incoming President Sam.
Cub News
Kindly note that next Thursday , June 9 is Dragon Boat Festival holiday so we will not have club meeting on that day. And on Jun 16 ( Thurs) , it will be our Fat Siu Lau Charter Night celebration so please do sign-up with PP Stella soonest and invite our Rotaractors too.
