Dear Fellow Rotarians:

It was a busy and fruitful week. Fortunately, last Friday super typhoon RAMMASUN did not hit Macau directly, so we were able to attend the graduation ceremony for Concordia Special School under typhoon signal No.3. From Kindergarten to high school graduates, we saw a significant improvement in the children, without doubt, the love and patience from the teachers were extremely important.

On the same day, 2 outstanding students from our Adopt-A-School – St Paul’s School, Ricky and Cherry headed to Manchester city for UK Summer Camp. Our club sponsors them to have a cultural exchange for 2 weeks and they will report to us when they return.

Last Saturday our club’s first vocational visit to the University of Macau new campus at Hengqin.

PE Elizabete wrote a nice article which was published in this wk’s  DG weekly newsletter:

Thanks to fellow Rotarian’s reminder, my apology to our other two German Rotarians, Wolfram and Thomas. I missed mentioning you in my last weekly update when congratulating your country as World Cup Champion.

Meeting Highlights:

AG (Assistant Governor) Synthia Chan accompanied by two DAGs (Deputy Assistant Governor) Gordon from RC Macau Central, David from RC Amizade made their 1st AG Visit to our Club. A wonderful informative presentation by AG Synthia about this year’s Rotary International strategic direction to focus on our Public Image, engage families, membership development/retention and Rotary Foundation. Moreover, she also introduced the new Rotary Central website and walked us through on how to register and utilize it for club administration and club goals’ tracking.

AG Synthia also presented Paul Harris certificate and pin to me. Janet also received Paul Harris +1 pin which I will keep and present to her upon her return from holiday.
